Time for armor! To start with the chest armor, I followed Russel Midfield's "Blender 2.9 Tutorial - How to Model & Sculpt Armor!" video on Youtube, connecting the hips with the chest and stomach area, then working down into the boots. I also started coloring the different meshes various hues to keep them distinct in the model viewer.
For the hands I actually did it on my own without a guide, using the same techniques used in areas around the breasts,. hips, and feet to keep the edge flow consistent. Hopefully this works okay for UVs and animation, and if not, I'll probably use a specific guide for it next time.
Starting to move towards the final design, I added a fairly simple arm guard, extruded the wrist cuffs on the gloves, and formed the collar on the vest.
Nearly there! I extruded and separated the belt, redid the tail mesh, and extruded the lining around the shirt where it tucks into the helt.
All done! Added some simple eyebrows for expression work, chest straps to support the shoulder guard, shinguards and detailing on the boots, and a sheathe for her sword that dangles by the belt, as well as a small extrusion for the belt buckle. The mesh is all done, and ready for texturing and UV mapping!
That's all for now, here's an extra doodle for good measure.
