Due to work commitments and lack of time, I wasn't able to finish all the animations I wanted to have done this week, but I still got plenty done! Below are just a few examples of the current set of animations I've finished, with only 2 or 3 left to finish before completion!
Running and Running Loop
The run cycle is a bit too fast for the distance traveled, but I'm a bit fine with that because it's so bouncy and fun looking. I'd rather the cycle be a bit too fast for the movement rather than too slow as well, because while it looks like he's sliding slightly unnaturally, it'd be more pronounced with a slower cycle.
Idle Animation
The idle animation is a bit too "clicky" in how it pops back and forth, but the snapping isn't as pronounced in profile and adds to the rhythmic bouncing a bit, so I decided to keep it.
Hang Jump/Idle/Attack/Dive
This is one of his signature attacks! He jumps and hangs from the ceiling, punching the roof to knock down obstacles (in this case, those hanging rocks) the player has to dodge. After finishing the ceiling punch, he dives down for a ground slam attack the player has to avoid.
Dash Attack
A quick dash punch, that the player has to jump over to avoid. I wanted to include this to add some variety to the move set so the player wouldn't be exclusively dodging attacks by running side to side.
Unfinished Ground Slam
This is half done, where the Maned Wolf will slam the ground with a stomp, causing a wall with a permeable portion to pop up from the impact. He'll then punch it forward at the player, where they have to time a jump and dig to go through the obstacle, or end up getting slammed into the wall. I just have to finish one or two punch animations to complete the followup to this concept.
Nearly done! Next week all the animations will be wrapped up and ready for a reel.
